Local Businesses Being Deceived...

It has been brought to our attention here at Crossbridge Marketing & Media that there is a company that goes by the name of Domain Listings LLC that is sending out mailers in the form of a "bill". These "bills" look quite convincing and if not read very closely, leads the reader to believe that if the amount is not paid that they will be losing their domain names. THIS IS NOT THE CASE AND THEY ARE BANKING ON PEOPLE NOT READING CLOSELY. All this company provides is a listing on their own website, in THEIR directory. You do not need to pay them to remain on Google or any other search engines.


The mailer reads: " This website listing offer is provided to leading websites throughout the United States  to enhance their Website exposure and expose them to new customers through our directory. We are not a Domain Registrar and we do not Register or Renew Domain Names. The listing period is for 12 consecutive months and must be renewed annually if you wish to maintain your Domain listing and keep it active on our online website directory. THIS IS NOT A BILL. THIS IS A SOLICITATION. YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO PAY THE AMOUNT STATED ABOVE UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THIS OFFER. "


The mailer looks very official and could be intimidating to some folks who may not understand just what the letter is reading. Please make sure to read anything with an unfamiliar business name attached to it or anything that seems suspicious extremely carefully. When in doubt please feel free to contact us here at the office with any questions and we would be more than happy to answer them!


If you happen to have already received one of these mailers and was deceived by them, there is hope! On their website under their Legal section they say: "Refund requests made 30 days or less after the payment is sent will receive a 100% refund. Requests made after 30 days will be at the sole discretion of Domain Listings, LLC. If the refund is approved, a pro-rated refund will be returned for the remaining time of the active service. If a request is made more than 12 months after the payment was made, no refund will be granted. The refund check will be issued and in the mail within 3 to 5 business days after processing. " So the sooner you act the better your odds of getting back your full refund!
